Full E-Commerce and Portfolio Website Build
What they needed: a reliable website and online store
Chris had a broken WordPress site that was glitchy and unpredictable and he needed a reliable website to double up as both a portfolio gallery and a way to sell his art, so we built him a brand new Squarespace website and online store! With both an artist portfolio showcase and a seamless e-commerce store, his visitors would easily be able to browse and purchase his custom artwork on prints, apparel, and puzzles all in one place.

What we did: a full Squarespace e-commerce website and portfolio!
There was a lot of prep work due to the sheer volume of Chris’s prolific collection of artwork. First Chris shared images of all his pieces, then I cropped, optimized, and organized all the images to build into the site, meticulously customizing, categorizing, tagging, alt-tagging, and ensuring each product was listed perfectly in both his main gallery and in each of his 105 breakout pages of his online store. 😅
Once I built the site I made Chris an “Easy Store Setup” document to outline exactly how to add new products to both his Prints and Apparel categories in case he wants to take a crack at it himself.

I’ll never leave you high and dry once we finish your website. Some folks elect to keep me on hand to make continued updates as needed, and others like to have some agency over their own site. I made Chris this document full of easy parameters for exactly how to set up any new products in his store if he’d like to do it himself. Take a peek in the video below.

This isn’t even close to the full site, Chris has 96 prints alone (!) but it’s a taste.
Customizations included:
hover effects for the three store categories on the home page
a snazzy “return to top” button at the bottom of each page
code to ensure the full prints were pictured and never cropped
drop-shadows to highlight each product or print
custom lightbox backgrounds to ensure optimal visibility depending on the product
an easy Continue Shopping user flow by SF.DIGITAL (not sponsored, just highly recommend)
